Now in store for Christmas, look out for the William Morris gift range featuring the popular Strawberry Thief design.

Morris (1834-1896) was an English textile designer, artist, writer, and socialist associated with the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood and the English Arts and Crafts Movement. He studied at Exeter College, Oxford in the early 1850s where he developed a love of medieval art and architecture.

Strawberry Thief is one of Morris’ best-known designs. He based the pattern and name on the thrushes which frequently stole the strawberries in the kitchen garden of his countryside home, Kelmscott Manor, in Oxfordshire.

The Strawberry Thief range includes gifts items from the V&A as well as Morris & Co. Available in store at 106 High Street and OUshop.com Price range: £2.70-£22
