On leaving school, Valerie first qualified as a medical technologist, working in clinical research in both London and Sydney before returning to Oxford to rediscover her love of the English landscape through watercolour painting. Her paintings and prints are regularly exhibited worldwide and she has illustrated four books including "Oxford: Words and Watercolours" and "Consider England".
