On Foot

From the city centre, the shop is situated half way down Oxford's historic High street, opposite Brasenose College.

Walk from the Train Station
Turn left as you leave the station area. The Royal Oxford Hotel is directly in front of you; keep left and walk along Hythe Bridge Street, (past Blackwells Bookshop offices on the left). At the end, walk straight across into George Street. At the end of George Street, Debenham's Store is on the left. Turn right here into Cornmarket street and left at the crossroads at the top. You are now in the High street. The University of Oxford shop can be found half way down on the right hand side.

Walk from the Bus Station
Exit the bus station in to Gloucester Green, walk round past the Odeon Cinema into George Street and turn left. At the end of George Street, Debenham's Store is on the left. Turn right here into Cornmarket street and left at the crossroads at the top. You are now in the High street. The University of Oxford shop can be found half way down on the right hand side.

Driving directions

Directions from London/M40
Exit M40 at junction 8 (A40 Oxford).
After 5 miles go straight on at the Headington roundabout (where McDonald's will be on your left) following signs to the City Centre.
Follow this road all the way through Headington until you reach a roundabout (approximately 3 miles).
Turn right at the roundabout following signs to the City Centre and car parking.

From the North
Exit M40 at Junction 9 (Oxford A34).
Continue for approximately 8 miles, then take the Oxford/ Cheltenham exit.
At the Pear Tree roundabout take the second exit.
At the next roundabout (Wolvercote) take the second exit along the A40, following signs to M40 London.
At the next roundabout take the right exit, following signs for Summertown and the City Centre.
Follow this road into the city centre (approximately 2 miles). The road will take you round to the right (passing the Randolph on your left) where you will see signs for parking.

Directions from the West/A420
You will reach Oxford at the Botley interchange. To avoid the city centre's traffic restrictions turn right onto to the dual carriageway A34 south.
Exit the A34 after 2.5 miles following signs to Cowley/Iffley and Football.
Carry straight over the first roundabout ignoring signs to City Centre.
Take first exit at next roundabout where Sainsbury's is across the road on the right.
Take the first left off the next roundabout onto the Iffley Road signposted City Centre.
Follow this road into Oxford.
When you reach a roundabout follow the signs for the City Centre and car parking.

Parking information

Parking is notoriously difficult in the city centre and so we would recommend using the Park and Ride system if arriving by road (see link below). However, there is parking at the following locations:

  • Westgate (1225 spaces) - City Centre Car Park
  • Worcester Street (190 spaces)
  • Abbey Place (120 spaces) - Opposite the ice-rink
  • Gloucester green (100 spaces) - Underground close to the centre
  • Oxpens (75 spaces) - Next to the ice-rink
  • St Clements (120 spaces) - Near Magdalen Bridge
  • Railway Station (400 spaces) - Daily rates for rail and non-rail users
  • South Parks Road (200 spaces) - Saturdays only in the University Science area
  • Other on-street pay-and-display parking mainly in Broad Street and St Giles (386 spaces)

Public transport information

By Rail
Trains run at least once an hour between Oxford and London, and twice an hour during peak times. Oxford is also on the main cross-country routes. For details of times and fares, telephone 08457 484950 (24 hours) or visit the link below.

By coach/bus
Two companies run buses every 15-20 minutes, 24 hours a day, between London (Victoria Bus Station) and Oxford. These are the Oxford Bus Company telephone +44(0)1865 785 400, and Oxford Tube telephone +44 (0)1865 772 250. There are also direct and regular services to Oxford from Heathrow and Gatwick airports operated by the Oxford Bus Company.
Coach services from other parts of the country are available with National Express. Oxford bus station is located in Gloucester Green the entrance of which can be found in George Street.
